July 2013 Block

Morning Glory

Tips & Hints

The block for July is an embroidered block - Morning Glory. Embroider it on a piece of white-on-white fabric. Cut the fabric about 11" x 11" to allow for some shrinkage during embroidery. The winners will cut their blocks down to 9 1/2" x 9 1/2". You will be making two blocks for July.

Stitch the lines with two strands of embroidery floss and a stem stitch and make French knots where the little circles are. Color choices are up to you. They can be all one color as in Redwork, etc. or multi-colored. Press your blocks face down on a dish towel.

The block is 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" unfinished. Do not cut your blocks down. Send in your blocks as they are and allow the winners to cut them down to size. You will be making two blocks for July. Please mail your blocks so they will be received by Patty before the end of the month.

If you have questions or comments, post a note on the Yahoo PClassic BOM Group or email Squirrel (Patty) or AzPatch (Margo).
